Indiegogo and Kickstarter are two of the largest rewards-based crowdfunding platforms out there. They allow eligible creators to raise money for projects in a wide variety of categories. In return for a donation or pledge, backers gain access to cool rewards and experiences.
Since I started writing about crowdfunding in 2012, these two sites have seen some major changes. Fundamentally, these two sites are different from each other in a few important ways, and knowing why can help you choose which one will be best for your project.

I found your article to be a very interesting read. I've always heard very polarized opinions about both platforms, praising Kickstarter and condemning Indiegogo, so I had never really looked into Indiegogo. Kickstarter doesn't seem to be going very well for us, which makes me wonder how good Indiegogo is for a kid's toy. Looking at the site, there's a mixed funding as I expected, but does anyone have advice on this?
Our project is a kid's fort, the price derives from being made local and from the durable material, which we knew would be an obstacle going in.

Personally I like go fund me better simply because it's easier for backers to donate money. I also have a social network coming out in December called Slushbox I'm crowd funding for it on Kickstarter! I left a link below please check it out, let me know what you think!

We have used both to differing success!
We launched on Indiegogo (flexible option), did not surpass our funding goal however .
However we learnt, got more feedback and launched on Kickstarter and so far surpassed our goal!

Good luck and any questions feel free to ask!
