What's your $1 Reward Idea?

As a backer, I like the thought of the $1 pledge rewards. Most people won’t miss $1 plus it’s a good way to begin backing projects ( I feel that backing projects can be addicting and you will find yourself spending lots of money very quickly if you don’t pay attention!)

As a Project owner, and a broke one, I understand that people may want to help but just can’t. I like to have reward tiers for everyone.

Sometimes it’s hard to come up with rewards for the $1 pledges. You want it to be digital or at least something that won’t cost you anything to deliver.

I’ve seen things from Just acknowledgement and gratitude, to a phone call.

What do you think would make a good $1 pledge reward? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

If you want, record a personalized mp3 of you saying thank you. Costs nothing. Other than that, the $1 level is a cool place just to let your personality come through: a pic of you waving or just some description of you saying thanks. Make it funny or heartfelt.

I'd thought something as simple as a thank you and an acknowledgement (backers list in credits) would be sufficient enough. I feel most $1 backers do it more for the "I helped make this a thing" than for any physical reward.

I think there is something about a hand written note just saying thank you which brings it to a new level. Its easy and free to shoot off an email. A letter says, I really do appreciate you. It also builds a relationship between you and customer which can be used down the road.

yeah but a letter cost .50 cents to mail out, on a one dollar idea your eating half of the pledge right there. Emails are Free to send and you can write a nice letter and send 100 for free

I think you can do post card size for about half that. True it cuts into the dollar. I like to think of it as losing 25cents in order to gain a potential customer down the road. Its a small investment.

Huh, so i postcards cost the same as stamps to mail out, but i guess i learned something new today, that stamps for post cards cost $0.35 if you can afford to take that much off a dollar pledge i guess that is okay. i still think that is a bit more pricey for a dollar. i would think that would be better for a $2 reward

Plus if you want to be really marketable, you'd have to print your own postcards, which eats into your money as well.
