I wrote up this article providing some guidelines and tips for becoming a staff pick. Let me know if you find it to be useful!

I've seen some pretty questionable Staff Picks before but it is great that they affect the Magic sort. It's a great move by Kickstarter too, showing they are paying attention to the smaller projects even with how big they've become.

Seems a bit dishonest to put the staff pick logo on your picture if you're not a staff pick. I'm assuming kickstarter would have something to say if they found out (or maybe bump down your "magic" factor), no?

Great article, was trying to become one, and this will definitely help! Do you know how productive reaching out to individual staff is?

Thanks! Didn't know there was a stories@kickstarter.com email address to send your story to. That could definitely help getting picked. Great article!

Glad the tips are helpful.

@TedF - Yes, I also think that would be dishonest.

Came across this the other day...now that we are funded and moving along nicely, its time to press for this.

Thank you for the information. I'm on my first Kickstarter project. I've definitely learned a lot. Most of it I wish I'd known in advance so I could have had a marketing plan in place before I even posted my project.
