I was looking through new Kickstarter projects on the "New" tab in the Kickstarter app and I was REALLY disappointed by the lack of quality in Kickstarter videos, or worse, lack of video. :?

If you are considering a launching a Kickstarter
DO NOT LAUNCH without a video. Your project is 70% more likely to be successful when you add a video. :!:

:D Here are some tips I have found that make a successful Kickstarter video after 2 projects:

1. Introduce yourself. What is your story?
2. What is the project. Why am I giving you money?
3. How do you plan to do the project. Why should I trust you?
4. Do you have a proof. Show any examples or proofs of the work.

 A few things to look out for:

-Always film landscape. Portrait mode looks unprofessional and does not give a good view of what you are trying to show.
-Beware of watermarks. If you are using software that adds a watermark, find new software. There are several affordable or free software options and Adobe has a 30 day free trial.
-More than a blog update. Don't just show you. While its great to introduce yourself to the audience, try to show something relevant to your project. Proofs or pictures are good.

If you follow those guidelines it will help dramatically. If you have a marketing budget, I highly recommend finding a professional videographer to do your video. 8-)

Here is the video I did for Mycroft AI, while not perfect its a good example for what your Kickstarter video should do:
