Brothers Crowdfund to Make a New Zealand Beach Public

I've loved this since I first bookmarked it, so I thought I'd share it here:

I think it's cool that they outbid big real estate firms that wanted to buy the land and turned it over to New Zealand's Department of Conservation. Almost 40,000 people donated approximately $2.3 million to this project!
