After over 6 months of silence, Xeko finally speaks up in the comment section. They have gone bankrupt and all backers funds are now lost. Here is one highlight that is particularly interesting:

"Before anyone jumps to the conclusion that we made off with $257,870, let us be clear that nearly all of the donations came not from Xeko players, but from the friends and families of the members of our company. Contrary to what we believed going into this project, the number of Xeko players able or willing to support this project was less than about 40 people."

The project had 973 which, according to Xeko, 933 were friends and family. That's a LOT of friends and family. Makes me wonder what their definition of friend is... does it include anyone who has liked their FB page? Anyone who followed them on Twitter?

I think NY state attorney general is opening an investigation into them and several other high profile scams.
