World's First in Golf Tech.. but not in Crowd Funding

    by smartgolf » Tue May 09, 2017 12:48 am

    Hey guys.

    This is David from Smartgolf.

Smartgolf invented the world's first golf swing analyzer/trainer club. We managed to somehow raise 20,000 when

we were developing the club with kickstarter. Now we invented the putter and we are getting ready for another kickstarter

campaign... We started the pre-launch campaign by having a Korean war veteran giveaway event. It was giving out

our swing trainer clubs to korean war vets and families.. we did fb ads.. and even though it was a giveaway the results

were disappointing. Now the boss wants to launch in 7 days.. but the reality is we don't have a live community or fan-base.

facebook has 1,000 followers but its quite dead. We would get 70 likes only if we boost it and pour money. twitter/instagram

    quite the same.

NOW we have used fb ads and insta promotions to get traffic to our landing page at http://www.smartgolf.biz/putter/

we are getting traffic but nobody is subscribing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

We are kinda stuck in this process. we are planning to buy krowdster crowd funding campaign.. but we need some great

    help..

    HI!

Cool landing page! most difficult part is probably to ideally target your customer segment! facebook ads in my experience work best, but you need to think a lot what your future customer preferences are when you make the ads!

Krowdster is for sure also not a bad idea

Even though I am not a golf player I subscribed for your newsletter. Curious to see your campaign!

    Best, Michael --> www.airpaq.de

    Thanks Michael,

I am using facebook ads... the problem is I am getting on average 80-100 visits with 1-2 actual subscription.. Is the target audience wrong?

    Hi James,
Most probably you're not targeting the right audience. As you're considering Krowdster, you can use the backer directory to create highly targeted facebook ads https://www.krowdster.co/blog/successfu ... ebook.html

Cool, but the thing is why are you buying FB ads? You're looking for potential backers in a certain niche, which to me is golfers. You're targeting a FB community of golfers, sure - but that in itself is niche specific (Internet users > FB users > Joining certain golf groups > Click on Ads > Signup)...there's too many steps.

    - I'd suggest pitching golf sites who've featured golf kickstarter's before.
    - Running a competition to collect emails (My post is:
    http://www.linkedin.com/pulse/how-collect-100000-emails-launch-successful-campaign-giles-dawe)
    - Getting on golf forums
    - Getting golfers to test it out physically and get them to sign up etc.,

I wouldn't suggest previous backer's databases or buying ads in your case. Let me know if can help further.

Swing analyzer is a very useful thing nowadays, it helps us a lot to understand what mistakes we are doing. Personally I am not even an amateur, I guess, but I love to play golf on weekends with my friends. Recently, one of our friends came with a nice swing analyzer and that seemed to be a very nice gadgets. So now I am thinking of buying one as well and I also found on the internet the best golf push cart from grandview for a very good price. I hope that it will help me, because my friends told me that now he plays times better.
