I think it's definitely possible to crowdfund a clothing line. From my experience, I get excited browsing clothing projects that are unique, or that embody something that aligns with my values.
For example, if I want to feel more feminine and classy, I would look for brands that help me get there. The same concept applies to environmental activists, fitness enthusiasts etc. - given that Kickstarter and creativity go hand in hand, I'd say go for it!!
