We're a startup kid's entertainment studio located in Kansas City and we've just launched our very first foray into Kickstarter: Kung Fu Robot: Hardcover Comic Anthology & Mobile App

The super-short, tl;dr version of our project:
We're on a mission to create a beautifully illustrated, impeccably printed and produced, 140-page, 8.5" by 11" hardcover-bound comic book anthology that interacts with a complementary companion app for iOS and Android devices that will include augmented reality features, games and more. (Yes, that's "complementary" and not "complimentary." However, you do you do look rather nice today.)
Who or what is Kung Fu Robot?
Kung Fu Robot is a 9-foot tall, red, kung-fu-loving, peanut-butter-and-jelly-eating machine. The story revolves around our hero, his conscientious 9-year old sidekick Marvin’s fear of getting in trouble, android ninjas, a crazy rooster named Kung Pow Chicken bent on world domination.
About a year ago we made the story into an iPad-only app. A really good iPad-only app. Since its release in May 2013, Kung Fu Robot has been downloaded over 250,000 times globally and was named by Parents magazine as one of 2013’s best apps for kids. It quickly hit #3 in the books category in Apple’s US App Store, reached #5 in the newly created Kids category for children ages 9-11 in September, and has gained a notable following in the UK, China, Russia, and the Middle East.
Why Kickstarter?
Honestly, a book was the dream that started it all and we still believe in the power of a physical book to launch a kid's imagination. It's all original content. It's all original art. It's fun, funny and engaging but completely family friendly and appropriate for all ages.
