    Most Rediculous Kickstarter Project

    by therriaultk » Fri May 09, 2014 6:47 pm

Ben Schlapping is the creator of what may be one of the most ridiculous Kickstarter projects to date, which he openly admits. Schlapping is seeking $20,000 dollars to take a one-way ride on a luxury plane.

“The Residence” is a newly-unveiled luxury cabin due to start classing up Airbus A380s from the United Arab Emirates airline as early as this December. The 125-foot three-room private quarters come with a luxurious bathroom, furniture made from the leather used for Ferraris, and, of course, a private butler. Just because you’re traveling doesn’t mean you have to be a barbarian.

Of course, this is a bizarre project, but the article explains further that Schlapping reviews first-class airplanes and accommodations for a blog called Boarding Area. The project was suggested to him by several readers and although it seems unlikely that his campaign would succeed, he decided to give it a try.

What do you think of this project? He's essentially funding his review of this product for interested readers, and to date he has paid for the flights he has taken using miles.

That's pretty ridiculous. Seeing as he's technically "reviewing the flight" for his blog. I guess it would be hard to deny his project and then also allow other types of review projects. He also has done some other reviews so I can see why they accepted him, though I agree, it's pretty out there/I wouldn't pledge. Guess there is an audience out there for every niche.

What's even more crazy is that since it is in fact a "ridiculous" idea, he's getting press just for that fact.
