If you could crowdfund anything, what would you want to see come to life?

My answer: I think it would be cool to

1. Raise money for gloves that you could use to as an alternate UI when using google glass. Kind of like how in the movie Minority Report how they have those cool gloves that can manipulate the computer screen.



2. An equity crowdfunding platform where people can invest in films and receive ownership/profits.

Hover craft

I'd actually love a well-crafted, well-designed spear. Yeah, like a throwing spear. I've just always wanted one!

@greg what about a hover skateboard like back to the future? lol.

@mcubb - Playing too much dungeons and dragons growing up has made me always want to shoot an old-fashioned crossbow.

I would definitely like to see a car stereo that could play vinyl records. This would be a serious challenge!

Yea that would be a big challenge. I was reading up on Elon Musk and he kind of ran a crowdfunding campaign for his Tesla (taking deposits which he then used to fund his electric car). Obviously, he put a lot of his own money into the project also. Would be cool if there was a way out there to finance tech innovations or science innovations and also have some ownership if there was breakthrough.

I think they have something similar to this already! I think they're called organic motion or something.

I'm into the VR idea. I hate that Facebook bought Oculus Rift so probably something to it.

Why do you hate it? Intersection of virtual reality and reality is powerful stuff. Cool with what they are doing with drones and the OR.

I guess I always wanted a jet pack. Something compact. Maybe ankle and wrist thrusters rather than a full pack. And it would have a built in glider apparatus to conserve fuel and enjoy the quiet. It would have autopilot too. Just use your phone and Google Maps and you're off. Google maps distances are "as a crow flies" anyway, so now it will make sense. And of course an "auto-land" feature is a must so you don't do a face plant on Hwy 70 during rush hour.
