    Saying Hi

    by DanChamp » Fri Feb 07, 2014 7:28 pm

    Hi Everyone

I just wanted to introduce myself. I really like the look of this forum and hope to get really involved with it. I've had a look at a few topics and they all look really good. I'd love to know people's thoughts on my project and would welcome advice, tips and help. Have a look and let me know what you think.

    Hi..

I'm a nubie here so you might want to ignore what I have to say.

As you are doing video, I fund it odd that on my laptop the video was oddly cropped in the kickstarter box
(I see only Fair weat not Fair weather friends)

The story line was a tad thin.. stills were good but story matters a lot too.

    1. I think you could offer more rewards - you say a copy of the film. Is that digital or physical? What about an online screening of the film for a lower tier?

    2. I think you could be clearer about what the money will go towards in the text below the video (what is the breakdown?). Could you include a pie chart?

    3. Have you reached out to any local film communities about the project? I'm usually compelled to support films from people I don't know when I love the trailer (which is how actual movies are sold also I suppose). Didn't feel this way when I watched the video (just providing feedback, not saying you shouldn't make it! I support your effort :D ). Considering the amount you are trying to raise, your energy might be better spent by reaching out to your local community and selling the concept.

Hi, I just wanted to say that I like your set-up and I really hope you reach your pledge. I agree with sbriggman on being more detailed on your rewards and where the money goes. Otherwise it looks great. Good luck!

Looks good. I think there isn't enough description to your Kickstarter, people I think need a lot of info, especially if they are gonna donate money to it.

And as crazy as it sounds, maybe add a few more rewards brackets in smaller amounts (maybe 5 or 10) with a shoutout on your facebook page (if you have one) or as a credit in your film?

    Best of luck

@lux Locous - Friendly tip: Would recommend providing feedback on other people's campaigns before asking for feedback on yours seeing as you only have one post on the forum :).

I like the look of your film. I think letting us know what your plans are for the film (i.e. festivals, online distro, etc) would help us know your plans and connect with the project more.

I hope your campaign gets fully funded! I agree with some of the feedback mentioned earlier in the thread, namely providing a breakdown of how you are allocating the funds you receive. People generally want to know where their money is going. Other than that, good luck with your film and your studies.
