    Stocks or real estate?

    by SsCoobyDoO » Tue Oct 15, 2024 9:50 am

i don't have any real estate right now. have wondered about it in the future though. good source of diversification as well as (*hopefully) asset preservation and income stream.

as a "younger" doc with a 20+ year time horizon, i'm focused on equities investments first. i want to maximize growth as much as possible right now and shore up our financial foundation before even thinking about dabbling in real estate as an investment.

i think RE should be something that's done once you've already covered your financial base first and then have some extra "throwing around" money

For family experiences, forgoing RE is like not going to medical school. There is a regret/itch that is instilled in the psyche.

Choosing between stocks and real estate depends on what you're looking for. If you want something more hands-off, stocks might be your best bet. You can invest, let it sit, and watch it grow without much work. But stocks can be unpredictable, and you must be ready for the ups and downs.
On the other hand, real estate gives you something tangible. You own a physical property that can generate rental income or grow in value over time. It’s usually more stable, but managing a property can take time and effort. Also, real estate usually needs a more significant upfront investment.
I lean toward real estate because I like having something physical. Plus, property markets tend to be more stable in the long term. To dive deeper into the topic, check out https://singapore-dubai-investments.com for some interesting insights.

Real estate can definitely be a great way to diversify and add some stability later on, but it’s smart to build that solid financial foundation first.

Focusing on equities first is a smart move, especially with your time horizon.

Focusing on equities first is a great way to maximize growth, especially with your long-term time horizon. Real estate can definitely be a good diversification move later on, but it makes sense to build a solid financial foundation first. Best of luck with your project!
