Hello everyone!

I'm so glad to be part of this community. I'm Cameron DeJong and I live in the Austin TX suburbs. I wrote my first fiction novel, Fire to Middle, which was published in August of this year. While writing the book, my passion for diabetes awareness grew to the point where I committed to build out the series of books to a total of five while focusing on diabetes management as a key point throughout.

As someone who has been a type 1 diabetic since 1993, I have felt the pains and optimism from the advancements in diabetes management. The story I am writing, while fiction, is loosely based on my own life. You can learn more about my book by searching for Fire to Middle plus my name online.

For my Kickstarter project, I am working to raise the money to advance my editing and publishing abilities. I am using a pretty good publisher now, but I am lacking the ability to see details that are important to an independent author. Who is buying my book? How many books sold today? How may books are selling in this country versus that country? Right now, I know nothing about that. I want to be able to use my marketing background to use important data to build this series out to success.
