1 week till our campaign. How do we start off strong?!

    by tiffanysky » Mon Oct 15, 2018 12:27 am

I am a part of VivoTribe, a San Diego based company that makes amazing plant based protein snacks and we are 2 weeks away from launching our campaign. Our campaign video talks about our story, how we started, and our goals. We have spent a tremendous amount of time perfecting it; fortunately, we have created a small community around our products and social media. However, we would like to grow bigger. So I have a couple of questions, please give any feedback and thoughts you may have:
    - What are some good ways to reach out to a larger audience?
    - Who are some of your favorite social media persons that are avid about sustainability and vegan foods?
    - How can I create more interactive posts that will get others excited about us?

Any and all advice is much appreciated! Here are some links to our video and social media pages if you would like to learn more! I encourage you all to share this video with all your friends! https://youtu.be/EKjt1-rgl8w

This may be niche specific, I don't know yours well. I can tell you what worked for me though.

Long before you start your campaign, start blogging about your niche (not your product). Review products, cover lifestyle stuff, interview prominent people, run giveaways. Do anything to get traffic to your blog, then convert those people into email subscribers. You need a big day one, and the only way to do that is to have people queuing up to buy from you. They will do that if they know and trust you, and that trust is built from your blog and the quality of the articles you've shared there.

If you're launching in 2 weeks it's too late to start that. I don't know the position you're in with email list etc, but I work on the basis that you need to be able to fully fund your project on 5-10% of your active subscribers. Everything is somewhat dependant on your budget though - if you can afford lots of ads it's probably a different process. I don't spend money on ads.

Great points. I would say on the giveaways part that don't expect those emails you're collecting to convert well into backers.
    - Instead try to get them to do something for you in exchange for an entry, whether it's a share to their personal (social) network or other things.

Pre-launch pre-launch pre-launch, can't say it enough, launched 4 projects the past 3 years and this has been by far the most important thing, you should also partner with some services and PR agencies. Lastly, don't waste your time on social media, its pointless and time consuming.
