    Stylized fishing apparel start-up

    by HookSinkerApparel » Wed Feb 03, 2016 7:50 pm

    Hey Folks,

My friends and I recently started our Kickstarter "Hook Sinker -- Fishing Apparel Reimagined". We were fully funded within 24 hours, had a lot of activity the first couple of days and now we are hitting our lull. So far I am really enjoying the crowdfunding journey. We had a pretty decent following on social media, and a very active core group of friends that really seemed to help with the success. We would fully support any ideas or advice from the folks here.

Looks great guys! Congrats on reaching the goal+ 30 days to go.

I think you've got a great product and targeted audience.

I didn't see any wear for babies or women? Perhaps you need something like that, I'm sure these groups like fishing too (i.e. I want my kid to get into fishing when they're older > so here's a themed hat/tee).

I guess you've looked at Threadless too as it shows how models pose in the Tshirts. Your style reminds me a bit of Mooks clothing, which is an Australian brand. What I like about Mooks is they took their logo, then just "mixed it up" by using different colours, object designs, or even just using the letters of Mooks and making it as a new design.
    - Perhaps you could consider this too.

Most popular is the Tee and Hat set. How about a Reward Tier of 5 different Tees + 1 hat.
    - You could label this as the "Week's Kit" so fishing fans could wear them all week.

    Or a "Weekend Set" of 2 tee's + 1 hat.

I'm interested in this project and wondering who you've connected with and which influencers have written about you.

Take a look at this LinkedIN article I found about the Top 100 Crowdfunding Influencers:

Sorry about that Hyperstarter. I thought I had replied to be honest!

I really appreciate your feedback (and by not replying I clearly demonstrated that, right?) and took it straight to the other members involved. We are working on some mock ups for female clothing, and hopefully some children's wear in the future. Its difficult offering too much selection out of the gate without an enormous amount of funding due to a lot of minimums in manufacturing.

I like the idea you offered about naming the reward tiers of "The Weekender" however we felt it might be a little late to add in even more tiers, and can't change the ones we have now. But I was wishing we had thought of that!

We haven't utilized any services to boost sales at this point. We tried to create a following on social media prior to launch and continue to utilize this as our main point of contact.

Thank you for including the LinkedIn Article in your post, I read it and got some ideas from it.

I'll add my email to your site and see what you might be able to offer. Hope to hear from you soon.
