Our Second Attempt and Lessons Learned From the First

    by hidsips » Tue Feb 21, 2023 10:17 pm

After 8 months, we are back on the Kickstarter pre-launch page with a new attempt to get our product funded and unleash our unique invention to the world!

    Newest Attempt: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/hi ... -hydration

    First Attempt: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/hi ... =user_menu

Right out of the gate, you can see that we have gone with a professional picture of our product, vs a render like the old product. We believe the confidence this will provide the customer should help get us traction at first glance. You also may notice that the product has a new name and that it's far more enhanced and advanced than it's predecessor. However, we haven't gotten the followers on the pre-launch page that we might have expected to, in comparison to the last time.

New methods of getting the word out, such as utilizing a PR firm, have been attempted. We're interviewing different agencies to try to find one to provide us with a helping hand, and it has been determined that our reddit push will happen on the first days of our product actually launching.

When the campaign goes live, users will see a high-quality production video. We spent A LOT of our marketing budget on this video, but what good is a nice video is no one watches it?!? We'll be pinching pennies, using all our credit, and bootstrapping the heck out of this campaign in the hope to get the word out in a way where the marketing hopefully pays for itself! However, part of this will include paying people to create nice graphics for a part of the campaign. It's quite a conundrum.

The reward tiers have been thinned out to not overwhelm the user with a lot of options. The funding goal will be lowered in hopes that we can get funded quicker and at least see some return on our marketing investment.

All in all, our journey is quite a puzzling one (as we imagine it is for most campaign creators with a finite budget). ANY ADVICE you have is welcome, and we hope you can wish us luck in our endeavors.

Congratulations on the new attempt and the updates to your Kickstarter campaign! It sounds like you’ve put a lot of thought and effort into refining your approach.

I checked out both the new and previous pages, and it’s clear that you’ve made some significant improvements. The professional product photo definitely gives a stronger first impression compared to the old render. The new name and enhancements also show a clear evolution, which is great to see.

It’s understandable that you’re feeling the pressure to get the word out effectively. Since you’re working with a limited budget, here are a few additional suggestions that might help:

Leverage Social Proof: Consider reaching out to influencers or industry experts who might be interested in your product. Even small endorsements can add a lot of credibility.

Engage with Communities: Beyond Reddit, try engaging with relevant forums and groups where potential backers might be. Sharing updates, answering questions, and being active in discussions can help build a following.

Email Marketing: If you have an email list from previous campaigns or customer interactions, don’t forget to use it. Regular updates and teasers can help maintain interest and drive traffic to your page.

Content Creation: Since you’ve invested in a high-quality video, consider creating shorter clips or behind-the-scenes content for social media. It can generate additional buzz and give potential backers a glimpse into the making of your product.

Networking: Reach out to other Kickstarter creators for potential cross-promotions. Sharing each other’s campaigns with your audiences can be mutually beneficial.

Wishing you the best of luck with this launch! It’s clear you’ve learned a lot from your first attempt, and with these new strategies, I’m confident you’ll see some positive results. Keep pushing forward and stay passionate—your hard work will pay off!
