Sup fellow Kickstarters,

My name is Jordan, I'm the one of the co-founders at Keap. We launched our campaign on Kickstarter just a few days ago. Here is the link to our project:

I wanted to tell you all about our journey so far on Kickstarter... We began working on our project about a year ago. We love athletic shorts but hated our stuff falling out and we knew we had to come up with a solution. Being web developers by trade, my brother and I knew nothing about making clothes. but that didn't deter us. We bought a sewing machine and taught ourselves how to sew. A few bloody fingers and lots of destroyed fabric later we had something resembling the product we have today. We then started developing relationships with manufacturers, setting up the website and all the other fun stuff that goes into turning an idea into a business. We have always loved Kickstarter and knew from the start we wanted to launch our idea on the platform. After doing loads of research we found that most successful projects gained lots of traction months in advance before ever clicking the launch button. We have done all the obvious things to acquire customers and gain interest (social media, press out reach, build email lists etc...). We wanted to do something unique and different for our Kickstarter preparation, we wanted to bring our online idea and the online platform to the real world. So we did the most obvious thing we could think of... Open up a mall kiosk! We had our kiosk for 30 days leading up to our March 10th launch. We met tons of people and gained lots of potential customers. We educated 100's of people in our area about what Kickstarter is and what it means to be part of the Kickstarter community. Overall it was an amazing and rewarding experience.

as for me sewing business is a profitable business especially when you have a good sewing machine

Oh yes sewing is really cool. I think that a lot of people forget how cool it is to create something and then to just actually show that to people. I have always wanted to learn how to sew especially when I was a kid but both my parents didn't know how and when I asked for a sewing machine and they kind of looked at me funny and said that I didn't need one and that we can buy everything in the store. I never asked them again but when I moved out and found a stable job I decided that I wanted to try it again. I have been able to find an oldish Singer that is still working. I have been looking online for different tips and one of the best articles that I have found was this one here: sewingmachinebuffs.com I am still learning but there are a lot of good idea over there. I hope if would be of use to you guys. I hope the business took off
