I made multimedia gift tags & greeting cards!

    by Rachel410 » Sat Apr 19, 2014 2:06 am

    Hi creators,

I'm Rachel, new to the crowd funding world and this forum.

My team, TagTalk, has launched a Kickstarter campaign 3 weeks ago. I have to admit that it's so wrong that we didn't come here and learn from everyone else's experience ahead of time. But it's better to come late then never showed up!

So just a quick intro to my campaign: TagTalk - The World's First Crafted NFC Gift Tags is getting funded at http://kck.st/QlueNt. Would love to hear everyone's feedback, suggestions, and anything you'd like to share. I really really like the atmosphere here, so I'm gonna browse around learning from everyone, and hopefully to contribute my own help as well!

    Thanks in advance :)

This is pretty cool! I like the idea. Let's take a look at your stats. To view enlarged images, right click and click "view in new tab" or window.

Have you been getting any pledges from Weibo? Seems like you've gotten a lot of clicks from there. Seems like clicks on your link have slowed down after the first few days. Seems like you've been getting more clicks from FB than twitter also. Great clicks from china and canada. Have you considered getting someone in the US to share your link? Seems like your US marketing is kinda low percentage wise.

You average backer per day is a little skewed as the majority of your pledges were in the first few days, but if you kept it up, you would end up raising (182*26) = $4,732 more.

Any insights you can share from the backend dashboard on video play conversion rates?

Thanks for liking us Salvador! I'd love to share our status and see if it could be improved or provide some help to others.

    1. We shared a lot on Weibo and Wechat because we have a good base in these communities. We gained some traffic as you pointed out, but it was definitely a mistake that we did not educate the audience ahead of the time. Many people were highly supportive towards entrepreneurship, yet they had no clue what "crowd funding" is, nor how to "pledge" or "support". A part from that, language and requirement for using an int'l credit card also turned down many people. I had to write step-by-step direction but it only got us 3 backers from Weibo and 1 from Wechat. Definitely something to look out to when pitching to non-English backers.

    2. It did slow down. At first it was a lot of acquaintance. One featuring from NFC World also got us many views. Even though we have been updating and getting exposure each week, and constantly using FB, Twitter and Pinterest, it still got slacken. So there must been something wrong. It's mid of the campaign now and honestly we got a bit nervous. Studying Crowdcrux and reallocating our marketing strategy. Do you have any suggestion to our marketing language and skills Sal?

    3. We have been trying to get more traffic from the US by using FB ads and Google ads. Back to 2., I think we have some strategical problems that's lowering the efficiency of these tools. I will get back to you on this one.

    4. Definitely. This is our data about video. Conversion rate is 51/685=7.4% at this moment. Is there a way that we could increase it? I'm grateful for the feedbacks and hope to continently talking to you!

I replied above without quoting your post. Just FYI :)

Good information and thoughts. The video completion rate is pretty normal. See: http://www.crowdfundingpr.org/kind-conv ... ter-video/

I'll think about some ways you may be able to improve conversions and get back to you.
