Wow! We thought we had done everything right. we built a website with content with what our audience would enjoy, we blogged, we sought out followers on twitter in our niche, we built up a small newsletter following, we found bloggers willing to write articles. and then we hit opening day, and aside from some initial generosity from a few key players, we haven't done much. most alarming is just that we don't have anyone outside of our circles backing us. we've had several articles written about our concept, it seems to have been well received, but no one is putting their money where their mouth is. Hours and hours and hours of work, and mostly dead air now that it's time for the rubber to meet the road.
Part of what we felt initially is that maybe unlike niches that my wife works in (running) where the community is very involved and supportive, golf is kind of a unique sport in it's snobbery. I wonder if anyone else has struggled with this? Maybe we are way off base. any suggestions would be extremely well received. we are here:
