Can you tell me more about "people who we have personally reached out to"?
Are you referring to family members or any pr outlet?
For our project it has been about extending the boundaries of the tribe we are in. Kickstarter has been a gift because it has reconnected us with many friends who we haven't caught up with in a while.
Not all of them want to support us, but at least it gets the ball rolling and conversations going, which is something to be grateful for!
We reached out to family, friends, coworkers, internet people, and a few book people.
Most of our support has come from friends and family, although much of it has come from Kickstarter as well.
We were fortunate to be chosen as a 'Project We Love'. It seems like this has brought a fair bit of organic traffic to the comic.
Spending a lot of time working on the Kickstarter really was worth our time – I remember watching Carmen spending many nights working on our video and at first I thought she was going crazy... but when the video was finished, we realised how important the effort was.
