- Have you learned any new skills (marketing/social media)?
somewhat! It's still difficult to get attention without feeling spammy.
- Have you gotten any backers you don't know?
Quite a lot of them. I'm an artist and my projects are art related, I've been posting my work online for years so I get a lot of backers who don't know me, but know of me. I've also gotten a few backers through KS itself, some of whom are regular customers now, one's a big supporter on patreon
- What has been frustrating?
It's a lot of work to try to generate interest, I have a little bit of a following but it can be hard to get enough backers for even small projects. It's hard because most advice for kickstarter creators is more aimed towards tech, gaming, and other more interactive things along that line.
- How did you motivate yourself daily?
It's something I have to do most days anyway, as an artist, finding the energy to paint in the evening after getting off work, keeping a steady enough work flow to keep a base of fans and buyers. It was hard when I was younger, but I've trained myself to just deal with it over the years. I bludgeoned my brain into submission
- Are you planning on starting a business if your Kickstarter goes well?
My projects are all small steps towards making my art career a more stable source of income, hopefully one day a full time job.
- What tools or websites do you recommend (others than this one haha)?
AAAGH. I wish I knew, haha. Networking with like minded people on facebook has been helpful to me, but I figure that's something pretty much everyone here does
