I'm in the same place right now.
Family and friends see me struggle, hear that I'm stressed, and still I don't even get a question about how things are going or any curious questions about the campaign. It's like I don't run a KS campaign in their world. Which they know I am since I'm promoting it 24/7.

I have 22 days left, but feeling similar. The backers I have are different than the people I thought would contribute. We'll see where it goes. I'm trying to spread the word for our feature length horror-noir film.

That really sucks It was one of the reasons I decided not to tell any of my friends about the Kickstarter campaign I launched, cause I was afraid of exactly that. On the other hand, I once paid to have my product featured in a Kickstarter instagram and one of the comments just said that the idea sucked, which really got me down. I chose not to launch the Kickstarter and give up, but when I told my mom about my product, she loved it and told me she believed it would go far. To be honest it's the only reason I launched the Kickstarter.

I am definitely nervous about the parley donations and people writing you nasty messages. Maybe I don't have a thick enough skin.

Anyway - good to know about friends and family. We're launching tomorrow and we came to the realization early on that we needed a whole lotta strangers to help us out... It's been a wild couple of weeks of emailing and emailing and more emailing. I'm addicted to checking my email!

Hey, I totally sympathize with this post. As someone who has launched a few failed Kickstarter campaigns, this hits very close to home. Family and friends often care about your dreams, but have no interest in actually helping you achieve them.

Very insightful post, raising any money can be a struggle. We are asking for quite a low amount,and have previously run a successful campaign elsewhere for a different project. But even now I get those thoughts of self doubt

My advice is to just engage people as much as possible!
