This is like, super comforting to read and to know that other people have experienced the same feelings I am right now! My husband and I just started a kickstarter campaign. Although we tried to get the word out before we launched, its much more difficult to get sales than I was expecting. Haha but it is a great learning experience, and I look forward to growing and meeting other creators like you. If you had to go back and do it again would you still choose etsy?

I have tried many times to grow a business with an online store. It was drop shipping products. I never got any business that way.

I have been thinking of creating an Etsy and this gave some great advise.

I thought exactly the same thing! That just by starting an Etsy shop would mean I'd start getting customers with no effort on my end other than making the products I have actually had a few sales that way and a lot of favouriting of my items. Etsy is something I do on the side though so I'm happy with leaving it that way for now but one day I would love to turn it into a full time thing!

I liked your story very much and in general I like when people share their experience with us on different forums. I was selling on etsy too and my story is very similar to yours. Enhancing a great list of potential clients could be really hard in the beginning. That is the moment when you need the support from your favourite persons. What I like the most about etsy is that once a year the customers can sum up their stats and etsy rewards the most loyal customers. You can do that by exporting the information from etsy to csv.
