We're not sitting at 77% with 17 days to go. I am feeling optimistic about getting fully funded, we're having our actors do some podcasts this weekend that hopefully can help pique interest.

I've had more success with Google Adwords. FB ads are less expensive but unless your targeting is perfect it's very difficult to make FBers part with their money.

Nailed it. The Field of Dreams "If you build it they will come" philosophy doesn't work... they need to be there BEFORE you build it or you're going to have a very difficult, and expensive, time.

Cancelling was the right call. There are so many horror stories of creators raising the cash, not being able to make the product, and keeping the money. Good on you for recognizing it couldn't happen. My only suggestion for the future would be to have an ironclad number as to what your costs will be...
