My day job is admin based within an office, it's not a career or anything and is mostly there so I can pay my bills and fund my creative outlets. I want to be a writer mostly, but I dabble here and there with directing as well.

Makes sense, you want to build a community with people contributing, not just spamming their own work.

I'm liking the concept, slightly morbid but fun. Personally I'd perhaps lose the part about him deciding to kill himself, that's maybe a bit too close to the bone for some people and could go against your project in terms of PR. You could still have him as a lonely wizard who decides to make zombie ...
