Engaging in forums doesn't really build that large of a backer base as many times it comes across as peddling rather than actually engaging in the forum itself. Aw that sucks I'm sorry that happened. I think that's also a red flag because usually if the Paypal is active enough the person gets the fund immediately rather than having to go about it that way.

I feel bad asking so I never did lol, but I think they would back if I told them about it since they're good friends. Just mention it and if they back it then they do, and if they don't they don't. Don't pester them too much because it makes it look like you're just using them. Respect boundaries.

Yeah I would not risk it, since it also makes it look bad to other backers when your campaign suddenly drops in funds. Looks like a red flag.
