    All-girl band's upcoming projects

by Unicorn Hunter » Thu May 29, 2014 8:58 pm

    Hi guys,

My name is Kat, and I am in an all-girl rock band called She's Not Dead. I have worked very hard for this band for the past 2 years.

We were recently approached by a reputable music video director who wanted to make a video for us so much that he was willing to do it for the production cost. We went from Portland down to LA to film the video, but we still have to pay what we owe on it before anyone can see the video.
We're also recording a new EP, which is one of the prizes for our kickstarter (as is our full-length album).

Anyone who can donate and/or spread the word, thank you!

Thanks for sharing. How's the campaign going so far? Any questions about Kickstarter I can help answer?

Not bad, thanks for asking. We're doing alright and are expecting a few more donations from people who said they would donate when they get paid this week. But we don't have much time left, so it's a good thing we set the goal so low.

I liked a lot of the posts you have made with advice about crowdfunding, which is pretty great.
I do have one question, though. On the subject of people getting paid this week, I realized that having not gotten paid yet is a frequent excuse from people who want to donate. Do you think a kickstarter campaign has more success right off the bat if they launch the campaign at the beginning of the month when people have just gotten paid? Or does it even make a difference?

I have received similar feedback from other creators. I definitely think it's a good idea. Also, if you structure the campaign around a time like tax season, when people are getting refunds, they will have some spare money to support their friend's projects. I also think when the campaign ends comes into play, as many campaign see their most funds raised towards the beginning and end.
