This is a really great article. I wish I would have read it before launching my campaign.

I started to build up a Facebook and Twitter following a few months before I launched,
I totally forgot about Reddit... I wish I could have used their site beforehand to create some personal relationships.

As usual, continue the great work, all of your articles bring so much useful information. I must have bookmarked over a dozen of them haha!

I just wet to the site and found a place that looked right to post. People are saying they saw it there so I must have done something right.

Easy to forget with so many social bookmarking websites (StumbeUpon is another traffic driver). Building up a profile in some key subreddits will be valuable for your business even after the campaign is finished.

    do they promote film?

Who is "they" that you are referring to?

I have never used Reddit and I think the main thing is, how the heck do you get that traction? She said she tried a lot on there and found the right wording, but what is the right wording? I posted a thread and so far have 3 upvotes, but would love to figure out how to increase it. Guess it's more just about getting involved in the community than anything else?

"We really over stretched on Reddit. Overall, we posted probably over 30+ times on there (new threads). I’m pretty sure people got sick of our “spam”! I’d research various places that we could post at; like what sites were the best for us."

"We were over 500% funded and down to the last few days. But the day never ended. It just kept going and going. We participated on the Reddit thread, kept posting about it on other threads and then boom, we got on the front page AGAIN."

I also think it helps if you can share articles about your project, not always the project itself. It's like a forum community - you need to be involved and form connections. For example: if you have 10 connections on reddit that you've built a relationship with, you can specifically ask those 10 people (who have reddit histories) to upvote your most recent post to help get it more exposure.
