    Indisposables: Photography by the Homeless

    by AlexHandy » Wed Jun 05, 2013 5:09 am

    Hey Everyone!

My name is Alex Handy and I am a newbie on the forum. I wanted to get some feedback on my Kickstarter campaign for my photography project 'Indisposables'. I'm only 2% funded, but I have 28 days to go so i'm not too worried at this point. I was just hoping to get some suggestions from the community!

You can check out the page here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/alexhandy/indisposables-a-different-type-of-photography

Thanks for taking the time to read this post!

    Hi Alex,

I like the idea. I used to be a part of a coed community service fraternity and we would deal with issues of hunger and homelessness a lot. Not only could it open people's eyes to some of the hardships, but it could also help give them a voice and let them tell their story through images.

Critique: I would include more photographs in your campaign, maybe of San Francisco or take some yourself to show people what the result could be like. You could also mention the Pursuit of Happyness book to help people connect, I believe Chris Gardner lived in San Francisco while he was homeless, though I am not completely sure.

"Meanwhile, none of Gardner's co-workers knew that he and his son were homeless in the Tenderloin District of San Francisco for nearly a year."

I launched a website a few days ago called http://www.crowdfundingpr.org
If you create a free press release, would be happy to tweet you out there!
