Seeking Feedback on Packaging for Kickstarter Projects

by Dorothy Colon » Fri Dec 20, 2024 9:46 am

    Hi everyone,

I'm currently working on a project that involves designing the perfect packaging for Kickstarter campaigns. I’ve noticed that many creators face challenges in finding the right packaging solution that looks premium but is also sturdy enough for shipping.

For example, I recently came across rigid boxes as a potential option. They offer excellent durability and a high end look, which can be a great way to impress backers. Here’s a detailed page I found on rigid boxes and their benefits Rigid Boxes for Packaging.

I’m curious to hear about your experiences. What packaging solutions have you used for your Kickstarter projects? Did you face any specific challenges, or find any solutions that worked particularly well?

    Looking forward to your insights!

Rigid boxes definitely add that wow factor! I used them for my last Kickstarter and they were a hit. However, I did encounter some shipping challenges. The weight and size of the boxes increased shipping costs significantly. I ended up offering tiered shipping options to help offset the extra expense for backers.

For my last Kickstarter, I used sturdy mailers with custom inserts. They offered a good balance of protection and affordability. I also invested in high-quality custom tissue paper and branded tape to elevate the unboxing experience significantly, even with simpler packaging.

I've also seen some creators use eco-friendly options like corrugated cardboard boxes with custom inserts. They offer good durability and a professional look while minimizing environmental impact.
