Is the amount of money pledged the measure of success for crowdfunding platforms? Not being snarky, an honest question... Is that the performance indicator that defines success?

@KickSucker2013 I think it is a variable and sustainability to the growth of the platform and acceptance into the marketplace for crowdfunding. 1 Billion, $1,000 a minute pledge, quite impressive.

Is the amount of money pledged the measure of success for crowdfunding platforms?

Guess it depends what your relationship is to the platform. For an investor in the platform, I'd say it's a pretty good indication. For the entrepreneur that started it - I supposed it's up to how they personally define success. For the backers & creators, I'd say viewing a platform as successful would come down to UI, ease of use, education materials, scam protection, and a thriving community on the website more than how much was raised.

Either way - I think it's a good thing. It raises awareness for the arts and creative projects.
