Hit goal early - now what?

    by prplgds » Thu Jan 30, 2014 7:00 pm

Due to the AWESOMENESS of my backers, I have hit goal with 23 days left in my campaign. Now what? I'm hoping it stays open so I can get the extra 23 days of exposure - but when do the funds get released? No, because goal has been hit? or in 23 days when the campaign is complete? :?: :?:

Your funds will be released after your campaign's time has expired. Until then, you should concentrate on updating your page with stretch goals (with accompanying explanation to show how the extra funds with be used) and reach out to relevant bloggers to write about your success to promote it further. Also, make sure you send emails to your current backers to let them know you've reached your target, and what they can do to help take it further (ask them to tweet about it, Facebook about it, increase their pledge, anything like that).

Awesome, thank you. I have backers that are waiting for payday to pledge, so I wanted to be sure they still could. I've posted an update on the project and my fb page so that all my followers are up to date on the sequence of events.

First of all Congratulations. Do you have a link to your campaign?

Also you should definitely start capturing email addresses if you intend on making this a business. Later on you will need the email address to show your fans or supporters content to further your business relationship with them. You could offer stretch goals, we could give you more ideas if we had access to your campaign.

    Congrats

Thank you! - I've set up a stretch goal, and I will be adding all pledgers to my newsletter list to keep them posted of post project events - I notified them of this through an update.

You should continue to try and gain PR and get the awareness of your product out there.

Hey I was actually wondering about this too. I hit the funding goal for my illustrated zine project EVIL SQUEEZE within a couple days, mostly from facebook referrals, and now I am wondering how to get more exposure on the Kickstarter website or through other sites.. I'm expanding the project now that the goal has been reached, so I actually need to raise more money to cover the added expenses!

If anyone has any ideas feel free to roll them my way. Also if you're interested please check out my project and watch the video here and share with anyone that's into independent zines/comics. Thanks!
