How much would 500 leads approx cost? I wonder how effective it is, you have to convert them sort of twice.

Instead of sending potential leads to kickstarter draft page while don't you try using a landing page.
I think conversion is much more better on a custom landing page.

I'd recommend to bank about $2 per lead that you're looking to get.

Some people will tell you that they can get you leads for $0.50 - if they do that, run. They'll use what are called "Facebook Lead Forms" which capture people's emails directly on Facebook rather than sending those people to your landing page to capture their email.

Getting people for $0.50 with Lead Forms is horrible practice and you will get leads that are very unlikely to support your campaign. Driving people to your landing page and capturing leads for about $2 is much more likely to get you people who are more qualified to back your project once you launch.

It's anywhere from 1-10%. There are many factors that impact this ranging from initial targeting to lead nurture to how you're positioning the urgency of getting the product to the social proof you can muster to the final offer you're presenting on your crowdfunding page.

Basically - there's a lot of factors that go into it, but it all starts off by getting the right leads for your email list.

Yup! The pre-launch page is the landing page people see after clicking a FB ad. It's really one and the same, people just use different lingo for it.

I just helped a team launch on Kickstarter and found that by
1. capturing people's emails AND
2. asking for a $1 reservation even BEFORE the campaign even launches on crowdfunding...

We were able to get leads that were 12x more likely to turn into a backer and give dollars to the campaign.
