I am happy for you that you got yours funded!
It is outside of my realm of topics, but I will definitely direct some of my co workers to your book! (I work at a bookstore :P)

I was wondering if you had any advice for my campaign. It does seem that all is lost right now, or at least that is the feeling.
I have gotten a handful of very hefty pledges from anonymous people, who I assume are artists I have worked with, or met that believe in me. I do hope to make this work out!
Just last night I ended up opening for one of the artists in the campaign story at his Detroit show, so it gave me a bit of a confidence boost.
The Campaign is almost over, and can be found here.

Do you think it is time to call it? Or do you think I can turn it around?
    Thank you so much.
    -Drew

Awesome story. useful too. The below is a short intro of my kickstarter campaign. Let me know what you think.

The QR SCANNER REWARDS APP now on Kickstarter. Using technology to combat digital disruption.

"Finally an app that lets you get rewarded when you make your daily purchases from almost any merchant. It's really that simple."

Hello and thanks for sharing your story!

You did that without ads! That's amazing!

We have 25 days to go and I hope we can manage to get our project funded.

Here is our campaign http://kck.st/2yJJdti , we did everything ourselves, even the FB ads.

We were thinking to pay a marketing agency but will it be worthed, since we need to target a very specific and small group of people. But we know that if they see our project they would like to support us.

Thanks again for sharing and do you have any advice for us?

    Best,

    Vilma

    Hi Vilma,

I wrote to you via your site as I worked on the Carlos Santana shoe campaign and thought could help.

Regarding the FB ads, did it collect quality email leads > turn to backers or did those emails fail to convert.
    - I think targeting and narrowing an audience who know about Kickstarter, Indiegogo and Crowdfunding helps a lot.

In terms of an agency, it might be too late to start paying for new FB ads as it involves a bit more money and testing. Instead I think you should:
      Pitch and outreach
      improve the campaign slightly,
look to social media to get noticed (to help convert leads and also test pitches)[/list[list]] + look to your own network for initial support (Even a $1 will help!)
Feel free to get in touch if we can help with any of the above!

    Hey Willpowered,

thank you for your pragmatic and inspiring post. It's the reason I registered to this forum.
Although what you share is very recognisable, I'm curious how you would reflect your advise on our campaign:
    http://kck.st/2TPti5F

although we're selling a 3D printed record player now, it's our goal to create a community of makers and hackers that expand upon the modular design and create a player or features that they would like to see. The design is open and modular, and the community is as much the goal as is selling the player (to support the way we're working).

looking forward to hearing from you,
    Tom

Willpowered hasn't been online since 2015, so I doubt he'll notice your reply - but I don't mind offering some advice, as we've worked on some huge campaigns.

So right now, you need to constantly be getting the word out - whether that's through newsletters, social media or your own network...there needs to be enough buzz and support to get you to your goal at least.

Then I'd start pitching and outreaching, based on your competitors and who they connected.

Then look at changing the campaign page by focusing on the early birds you've sold, the discounted prices and move the places you've been featured already right to the top of the page.

Let me know if we can help with anything https://www.hyperstarter.com/about

    Thanks

Actually, I am also worried about the same thing. My own Kickstarter project launch soon and I need more love and support for my upcoming project.
