I know this is an old thread, but some really useful information! The bit about smaller blogs and outlets is a great idea. My brother and I are launching a Kickstarter for our Game sometime this month (hopefully). Thanks for sharing this! :D

    Congratulations on getting funded!

Really love all three lessons since it's all really core aspects of early successes for each campaign.

For anyone else reading this, here are three additional strategies to leverage to get additional eyes to the campaign once it's launched!
    - Referral program: those backers you already have? They want to see the project come to life more than anything. Get them on board to send out news to their network. If you're up for it, provide them with some sort of incentive (financial or otherwise) to reward them for sharing to their friends and family!
    - Cross promotions: Kickstarter backers usually don't just back one campaign, they usually come back again and again and again. Use this to your advantage. Get more eyes to your campaign by doing mutual shoutouts with another campaign. Who knows, maybe their backer will also want to back your project too!
    - Launch stretch goals: They're goals your backers can help you "unlock" if your project reaches certain milestones - additional funding, additional backers, additional shares, you name it! If you're having trouble figuring out what stretch goals to use for your project, ask your backers. They want to see your project come to life and they want the best version of it. There's nothing as exhilarating than leveraging the brainpower of the crowd to come up with new add-ons for your project.

That was an awesome tip event though the thread is old but it's quite relevant to me.
I am currently working on my prelaunch campaign trying to build up momentum before launch.
