    First ever Kickstarter

    by jenxi » Fri Aug 24, 2018 6:00 am

Hey everyone, I'm working on my first ever Kickstarter campaign. It's an adorable smart dancing robot speaker. You can check it out at http://kck.st/2BAcbzJ

I've been reading up a lot on preparing and running a Kickstarter campaign since over a year ago. A lot of homework done. But I never felt like I was ready for it. Even right now, after getting 100% funded in 2 hours from launch, I'm still feeling anxious and worry about the campaign.

Actually launching my first project was nothing my long preparation work prepared me for. However, there are still instances where the preparation helped a lot. There were many small issues that would have tripped me up if I had not read up and taken precautions before the launch. I'll do a longer write up when I'm less jumpy over the campaign.

Nice to meet everyone here and I hope to get to know some of you better and learn from each one of you!

Thanks! It was a year to prepare getting on Kickstarter. The product itself took about four months.

That IS adorable...and well-done on getting it funded so soon into your campaign! It looks like you really thought everything out, which is extremely important. =)

I just started my first (real) Kickstarter too...it's for a collection of enamel pins that I'd like to add to my Etsy store called Farm Friends. I sort of did a Kickstarter back in 2014 for some t-shirts, but I had NO idea what I was doing, so I actually tried to do a little research this time...xD Here's a link to mine:

Congratulations on your success! Mine is going live in 10 days and I'm all nerves. I've binge watched all of Sal's videos on youtube that I even here his voice in my head these days! I'm doing all I can to have a successful campaign and I pray and hope it goes well.

The little robot looks cool @jenxi.
I'm on my fourth campaign and I feel that you're never truly ready to click on the submit button, but we do as much prep as we can and jump.

I know exactly how it feels. I couldn't sleep in the run up to launch. Get in touch and we can do some cross promotion if your product type fits my backers.

    Hi Jenxi,

What product type would fit your campaign? I'd be happy to cross promote, with a post out to our former backers if you can reciprocate in the very near future on our next campaign? PM me, thanks.
