Is it advertisement? Public relations? Maybe some influencer marketing? Please share your experience here as to what type you got the most backers from, and at the lowest cost possible.

It depends, if you're ads are converting well but you can't get press than go with that. I've heard that PR can drive a ton of backers but it's hard to get media coverage.

It is so hard to get press coverage by using crowdfunding PR firms that I strongly believe it is not even worth trying.

Agreed, which is why you never want to use Crowd PR or any other marketing agency like them. Beware.

PR if you can land something huge like CNN, otherwise Facebook Ads provide solid growth.

I am in agree. But also you don't need cnn - there are tons of tech blogs that are worth getting into as well.
