    Facebook Ads vs. Paid Media in Outlets

    I know that facebook ads are by far the most utilized form of paid media, but does anyone have any good results from running ads in media outlets like Washington Post or Uncrate?

    Those can be killer, but they are much more expensive than facebook ads CPM in most situations.

    GearPatrol.com has some kinda affordable ads that convert pretty well for kickstarter campaigns.

    Just stick to FB ads, it is a proven and well worn path to gaining backers. No need to break the mould here my friend.

    Be prepared to spend a minimum of $10k to get an advert in a media outlet of that size.

    Sticking to FB ad's and really figuring which audiences and categories are responding well to your campaign is super important. It can take some trial and error, but in the end you will have all of that information saved and you will be able to use it when needed along with the ability to create mirror audiences. There is a real science behind it all and if you take the time to learn it, it will prove to be an invaluable skill down the road. Don't be discouraged if the ads don't convert to conversions right away if they are making good impressions, shares, link click, etc. in the end you are spread some really great awareness and learning a lot.

    Hope this help anyone looking to use social media to promote their campaign and projects in the future.
