My product is low cost so I was thinking of putting a customized design as one of my larger donation rewards.

For my campaign I offered a trip to the Virgin Islands to visit the entertainment center first hand. I am having trouble drawing people to the campaign however. Any advice?

I think a great reward would be a fireside chat with the founders of the startup. It's a new idea, pretty original, and I think backers would shell out the big bucks for it.

We are thinking of personalizing cards for a pledge level.

We have been playing a version of our game for years with friends and we would always personalize cards. The funniest cards would be ones where we called someone out in it.

To keep the tradition alive we are going to write a card for each category about the pledger.
Hopefully their friends think it's as hilarious as we do!!!

What about for software or app based projects? There are much less tangible things to reward. What kinds of rewards are successful in this area?

Hmm, some of the reward ideas are pretty cool but, no value, backers do not really care about those. Put yourself other's shoes, what would you be hoping to get as a backer? Certainly not "part of your workplace", right?

Here's one that wouldn't fly on Kickstarter or IndieGoGo, but would work on some of the lesser platforms: a California lottery ticket.

"Be a Backer for a Buck and receive a chance to win $20 million dollars!"

The idea is to get page visitors involved with the campaign. After sending them several updates, (short videos by pretty girls), explaining how well the campaign is going, they, (and their friends), might be bigger players!

I received several responses to the following email. It went out to companies that rent exotic cars for their owners:

"We're arranging a special weekend for a big donor coming in for a weekend at the Beverly Hills Hotel, including the latest show, special dinner etc. We need the car available from 9 am Saturday until 4 pm Sunday on a weekend to be determined. Will pay $1,000."

This was one of the rewards for a $7,500 perk. The main idea was to have something unique and unusual enough to interest the media. Our campaign would of course be mentioned in the press release we sent them.
