Review Needed - Dads That Cook - TV Show

    by Splash » Mon Jan 06, 2014 6:33 pm

    Hello New Friends...

I am a total newbie to the Kickstarter world and I have been working on putting my campaign together... I could really use some feedback from those of you who have been doing this for a while! I have been reading a ton and networking like crazy...

Dads That Cook is a new cooking show that highlights Regular Dads from around the country and the incredible meals they make for their families... We just got a letter of intent (LOI) from PBS and they want to air our show in June 2014... Yeah! Now I need to finish the project by May 1, 2014...

Please review my campaign it isn't live yet, but would love your feedback!!!

Cool! Have you considered connecting with any mommy bloggers or family blogs to get the word out? Would recommend doing a cost breakdown of how funds will be used.

Thanks Sal... You are right about breaking it down... We will do that! And I will look into the Mommy Bloggers as well... Thanks for taking the time to look it over!

    Will do...

On the breakdown... Mainly the money that I am asking for is to keep my editors editing full time... I'm running currently at a discounted rate but $7000 per month just for them! And the 25K would cover them for 3.5 months... Would that be enough of a break down for that? Or do I need to add in more details?
    Cheers,
    Jason Glover

The way in the past I have seen creators do it is you have 100%, which is the fundraising goal, and then split it up so like 5% kickstarter fee, 5% payment processing, 30% - etc.

Yes that is was I was planning on doing... breaking it down by %'s rather than $'s.... I think that is the way to go! Do you think it's ok to have it written in the body of the campaign or do we need to make another video describing it?

To be honest, I'm not sure. For some websites, sat/sunday are very low traffic low engagement days. For others, they are higher engagement because people aren't thinking about work and have time in between family activities or just extra time in general to browse the web and catch up on personal emails.
