Feedback for a Stalled Kickstarter Campaign

    by dpecora » Wed Mar 08, 2017 5:18 pm

Hello everyone! I'm hoping to get some feedback on our Kickstarter campaign. We have 14 days to go and are 68% funded. Things started out pretty good – we got to 50% in 5 days, but then things slowed down a lot and have recently seemed to stall out completely (no pledges in the last few days). We received some good press, but it doesn't seem to have done all that much for us. We were featured in Design Milk, which has millions of readers, but unfortunately they ran the article a week before our launch day so we weren't able to capitalize on the interest that the article and social media posts generated (total newbie move by not explicitly asking a journalist not to post anything before your launch day because you didn't think anyone would write an article about you without contacting you first!). Our Instagram following is pretty decent, almost 1700 followers and growing, but we can't seem to convert these followers into backers. We've run some Facebook and Instagram ads, which seem to have resulted in a lot of traffic to our page, but hasn't translated into pledges. We recently signed up with Gadget Flow so we'll see if that has any effect. Sorry for the long post, but I thought I'd provide as much information as possible. Would any of you mind checking out our Kickstarter page and giving me some honest feedback? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Looks good. I think the campaign page could be improved though and the places you've been featured already are good, so perhaps you could use quotes too + put the "Press" section right at the very top as the first image I see doesn't show much.

I worked on the overfunded Mamba bottle opener, feel free to contact me if can help yours.

I just put out a podcast on this one Kickstarter that stalled and reworked their campaign and then was successful. Think this could have some helpful tips.
