Hey guys,

I recently launched a Kickstarter Campaign for an ethically produced hand painted scarf line. Now, I am aware that there has been a couple of successful ethical fashion campaigns, but mine is a bit different in a sense that it is an accessories campaign with only scarves. During my pre-launch period, I reached out to a couple of bloggers and magazines and got featured on about 6 of them till now. I also have over 1K followers on Instagram and 2K on Facebook. My campaign went live last Wednesday and within the first week I reached 50% of my funding goal and also got the project we love badge from Kickstarter. BUT right after hitting the 50% mark, all the backers seemed to just stop coming in. I don't know what's going on and what to do. I have signed up with BackerClub, Kickbooster, Facebook Ads, and many others and nothing seems to be working. is it my campaign, it is not good enough? I just added a couple more designs as well but nothing! Can you give me some feedback and maybe steer me to the right direction? What else can I do get more people to back my project. I genuinely need honest feedback. Looking forward to reading all your posts!

It seems like you have started your campaign off with some momentum. It now seems that you have hit a road block. All of your initial backers (friends and family) have donated to the campaign. There comes a point in time where a campaign may start to plateau. In this case, you will have to rely on your marketing, and try to find backers outside of your own network. This may require you to hire a professional. If you have created a marketing strategy, than I would recommend to stick to it. If not, the only other option I can see is seeking help from a company or specialist in crowdfund marketing. I hop this will steer you in the right direction.

I too have an ethical fashion campaign and it is almost funded but it has been a slow and steady build up to a very modest goal. It will be a break even venture unless I can do something to speed it up a bit. Although I'm actually surprised at how well it's doing considering how difficult it is. Fashion is the category that does least well on Kickstarter and it seems the most funded fashion projects are those that have some technichal innovation like the heat adjusting shirt or the period panties - not just a lovely line of clothing, all organic and all made in Burkina Faso, West Africa. Then the timing is really bad too because everyone is depressed with the elections and distracted by the holidays and need their money for gifts and my product won't be ready until spring. Any ideas for helping it to do better would be great!
