I will try this on my campaign and let you know the results. I am around 1 month until launch. It is called The Social Saddler Co. on Facebook.

Thanks for this - it is a bit daunting to see the 'funded in 2 hour' type posts! :)

Did the emailing kickstarter help to get you boosted to the preferred list?

Many thanks for the info, it seems like such a minefield when it comes to promotion. My kickstarter has 23 days left to go and I'm trying as many methods as possible to get the word out:

How to approach bloggers to post my kickstarter campaign

by Radev Design » Wed May 25, 2016 8:34 am

    Hello there!
Great community around here and helpful tips and advice!

Me and my team are preparing a kickstarter campaign and I'm the one responsible for the media coverage and finding the people to spread the world when our campaign will be launching. Can you guys give me some tips on how can I approach the bloggers or people in this area?

It would be very helpful for us! Thank you very much!

Facebook boost can surely help - it matters though how exactly you target your boost. Can you share some tips?

Good for you! I'm also curious to hear if you boosted it to your Facebook fans (who already followed you, who you've 'bonded' with, and this is now the push to actual sell) or that you boosted it to non-followers, who probably never heard of your project...

I know every project is different, but I'd like to share that we are seeing a lot of backers right now from using the Facebook "boost post" option. We did a giveaway asking people to share, and we posted our campaign a few times boosting it with about $50 each time. It looks like it paid off every time we did it. I just regret that we waited so long before doing it, so my advice would be to use paid facebook promotion tools early on :)

Love this little tidbit for your campaign here!!

It's true that you don't need a huge budget to create a huge impact for your campaign if you're using the funds in the right way. It really seems that the $50 that you've included to boost the posts went to the right audience and brought in a solid return to get your campaign fully funded!

Some other tactics for other campaigners to consider:
    - referral programs. Leverage backers who really want to see the campaign come to life. Since they want to see you succeed, they'll be more likely to share to their networks. Consider adding a financial incentive with a program like Kickbooster to encourage people to share even more.
    - cross promotions. Repeat backers make up at least 20% of campaigns I've been involved in. People on crowdfunding like backing projects on crowdfunding and being an "early adopter" of things. Get in touch with them by doing mutual shoutouts with other campaigns that are already live; their backers will see your project and your backer will see theirs.

Best of luck out there everyone!
