Legitimacy (and efficacy) of paid promoters...

    by WalkerYYJ » Sat Nov 30, 2013 10:19 am

Hi all, currently running a campaign which is ~ 1 week in ($16,000 of a $75,000 goal.) We were originally hoping to launch back in June but our patent got held up which delayed us until... well one week ago. We were restricted from saying anything much in social media about what we had developed, and frankly could not afford to wait until after the Christmas season had passed (would loose major part of the team if we waited till Feb~March.)
Funding is slowing down to just a few thousand a day, and although we have started to hit social media hard, and we have some articles coming out in the next week I'm considering all options. As I'm sure anyone who's on this forum knows after launch a plethora of promoters started offering their services. I would very much like to know if anyone on here has had success/failure with these groups. Is there any legitimacy to what they can/can't bring to the table? And I'm rather uncertain if I should ask this for fear of an army of paid shills, but any recommendations?

    For reference:

    thanks

Hi Walker- If you give me the names of the companies, I can link you to reviews of them on this forum and other websites. The results vary depending on the company.

I haven't seen any reviews online of platnum, shoplocket, or gadgetflow. I help run CrowdfundingPr, so I am biased, but in general the results vary by campaign and the payment tier (free, bronze, silver, gold). Have you managed to get on any blogs or publications?

The project I'm helping with asked me to look into crowdfundbuzz.com and ayudos.com for their promotional services.

Have you come across reviews or feedback pertaining to either?

    Thanks,
    ZW

    Hi ZW,

There was a big fuss over crowdfundbuzz on the crowdfundingforum: http://crowdfundingforum.com/showthread ... 80%99-scam

    Ayudos: post2812.html?hilit=ayudos#p2812

I am sure there are positive reviews of them. These are just the negative ones that came to mind.
