Stay in touch with repeat backers, especially those who like top rewards. Some will reply, these you can message more often. Don't overdo it. I will message about once a week if someone says they are interested but keeps forgetting to back. One or two per project if they don't reply. A little repetition to catch them when they have a few free minute; but don't overdo it.

I've done one Kickstarter campaign and in a month I am planning another. Here are my best tips I've learned thus far:

SUPPORT: Fond out how much support you will have in order to manage your expectations as to how much you can get in total.

DAY ONE FACTOR: They say that the first week is the most important week, but in reality it is Day One. It's like the hang time of a football. The higher you go on day one, the more successful and more aware your project will be. The NEW PROJECTS section will keep your new project on its page within the first 3 days before someone else bumps it. So on day one, after you have found out how much support you have, plan on having everyone donate on the first day as to be that much more successful.

REACH: start hitting up as many different groups that adhere to your project and politely ask them if they can help your project by supporting your efforts. Might not, but hey, you asked!

I read that you should start submitting to blogs and sites using an informative landing page weeks before the launch. I didn't do it, because I thought I knew better. Trust me and do it! Its much more difficult than expected to get attention! Do as much before the campaign as possible, down to scheduling emails to go out right after your launch using the Boomerang plugin for gmail.

Think about the promotion strategy before you start!

While our campaign is still going on, I'm happy to say we were 100% funded in our first 3 days. Now we're trying to get to our first stretch goal.

One thing that I think is sometimes underestimated when starting a campaign, but was invaluable to us, is understanding your Backer community and who they really are and what they want. Really gage what community your product fits into through social media interaction before your campaign starts and try to establish a presence there. Then, once they've become Backers, always listen to their feedback and respond to their comments and messages and make sure you're there for them as they are what got you there in the first place.

We've been so grateful for all the word of mouth and press we've been getting, but first and foremost it's been all about making our community of supporters even stronger and making sure we're making a product that is really what they want.

Backer Club helped me with a few backers.

You guys probably know this but setting your pledge goal as low as possible works.

I also find that facebook messaging editors help get bloggers attention as its hard for them to ignore vs an E-mail.

From what I've been reading, most people have seen success through sending out personalized emails. I've been working on sending out emails with relevant imagery and haven't been getting any responses back.

Does it just take persistence? is it a matter of emailing the right people? We're working in promoting a bathroom product idea, so who would be the right people to contact? retailers, contractors?

In the meantime, I'll still keep working on finding the right people to email.
