Assuming I'm right, that would mean that a company would have to somehow be guaranteed that you would work your tail off and do all the things you're supposed to do to be successful before going in on the deal with you. If you had them work to put the ads out and you neglected to call, email, tweet, pin, share... your own stuff, then they would be out the time AND the money.
With their current business model, they know:
1. They'll get paid
2. If you do pay them, you're more likely to do your part, thus making you both look awesome.
I doubt they'll be changing their business model anytime soon.
