I first heard about kickstarter on Facebook through ads that appeared on my page. I do support this platform and hope that mine does get funded!

I was looking into all the different ways to fund a business or project and Kickstarter seemed not only the most global but the best way to go about it! I'm not going to lie, it feels challenging at times but I do love the idea of it being a community funded project over a loan or investor funded one.

I read about Kickstarter in the Guardian in 2011. Backers now seem to have much higher expectations. It feels much more difficult now.

I found out about Crowdfunding "hands on" when I was getting submissions via our Gifts site. Since campaigns are physical gifts people can buy right now, I setup Hyperstarter to deal with this niche

I had a producing partner that showed me kickstarter as a way to try and off set costs to a web series production.

I was completely unaware about the concepts of crowdfunding just a few months ago.
When I joined my team at InqubusInc, a start-up in Southern California, I got introduced to Kickstarter, where we launched our first campaign, "Razzmatazz- all aluminum case for Raspberry pi 2"

It was like a new world of marketing right in front of me, it was soo amazing. I still cant resist being amazed.

I think I had heard the term"crowdfunding" many times before I really understood what it was. I mean, you can obviously logically inuit the basics of what it is, but I had no familiarity with it. Then a friend of mine started running a GoFundMe campaign to pay for some people to go to a Fringe festival.

I finally came into close contact when my friend and long-time film collaborator told me about a film idea him and another guy were kicking around. I got totally sucked into the concept, so he brought me on as a producer. I started doing some research into how we could raise funds, and my mind went to "...hmmm, Kickstarter is a way some people fund things, right?" So I looked into it, did some research into other potential crowdfunding sites, and then finally settled on Kickstarter. After several months of preparation, I'm now much much much more familiar with it haha. We just finally launched two days ago!

I don't remember, I know that a lot of interesting video games were on Kickstarter and I follow a lot of people in the gaming industry. Must've heard about it in passing and now it's a huge thing.
