    Hard slog so far

    by thesarcasmfont » Sat Dec 19, 2015 12:58 pm

    Hello all,

I would appreciate any advise on my project as it has started very slow.
I am sadly a dinosaur and have only started with social media stuff now (yes just now...)

I have joined Twitter, Facebook and even Tumblr. Tried Adwords and even Facebook advertising (very small budget though). I have so many accounts that I don't know if I am coming or going (hahaha)
(I even posted this same text on crowdfundingforum.com to get some advise)

The project is to provide a Sarcasm font keyboard on Apple and Android smartphones/tablets; called TheSarcasmFont.
The keyboard simply allows you to type in a reverse italics font to represent sarcasm.

Anyway, is the idea of interest and if so, how am I going to get people to look at it?

    Any help is greatly appreciated...

Hey Mate! Welcome to the Forum!

With any campaign raising more than a few thousand dollars via crowdfunding I always recommend having a video on the project page, instead of an image. There is some very low cost animation solutions online that you could use if you aren't able to produce a video another way so you do have options at the least. The page looks a little dry in general, it needs more images, and better images.

I think what you need to do is cancel the campaign on Kickstarter campaign, re-prepare, then re-launch in the future when you are ready. Please let me know if you have any questions and I will do my best to be of assistance.

    Cheers!

Thanks Jake, I think your right.
A question. If I leave the campaign to completion but it does not succeed, can I re launch later?

Hey Mate! Thanks for getting in touch!

I mean it's really up to you if you want to let the campaign run through but I think the reason most people at the point you are at decide to cancel and take it down is so they can start a fresh and begin working on the preparation work for the re-launch. If you need any help with it, feel free tl let me know and I will see what I can do :)

    Cheers!

I took a look at the page so far...$20 raised for $10k goal.

I'm really sure how this campaign would be useful. It looks like something you reproduce already with an emoticon or italics? Why would people choose yours over an existing function...perhaps you should list the points on the page.

I think you can run the campaign and later cancel/restart later. I think you should find out who your target audience is first, find out who would be interested, create a mailing list and look to target them later on. Good luck with it
