As for response of the 500 news sites, it's been only 2 days. There doesn't seem to be any traffic driven through them as yet, but having 500 links in Google search should help. Just did a quick search for "social casino" and found our news link on the first page. For now, that should be good enough.

Rest, your inputs are well taken. In fact, we did approach a few journalists and bloggers who have written about our field in the past. No response as yet.

As for tweets, yes, they did tweet too (sorry for the omission).

    Hello Nitin,

We have sent you emails / updates weekly recently and in weeks past with links and work completed.

A lot of this work can't be finished in a a day or even a week. It takes times to prepare and submit especially if someone signs up after they launch a campaign. We sent you tracking links and links to articles published for your project.

We'll keep you updated on the progress and please also keep an eye on your tracking link for traffic being sent to your project.

Yes, they (Ayudos) did deliver what they promised...eventually, which is basically press release, featuring your campaign on their site, tweeting and posting on their social networks.

But like mentioned in one of my previous posts, we hired two agencies for doing the same job on the same day (after the launch), using the same communication channels (emails). One finished it 15 days sooner than the other.

As for the results, none of the two experiments managed to bring a single dollar to the campaign, so that's that. But that doesn't mean it's their fault completely or they are to be blamed. They can only do so much, which means spread the word around. Rest depends on how good and interesting your product really is. Period.

So to summarize the learning: Along with whatever you're doing at your own end (which you must keep doing), if you can afford it, you can go and try these avenues...but ONLY as a helping hand for spreading the word around. ONLY. They don't promise to bring you funds and if some agency does, be extra cautious. This is a $500 piece of advice and I can't put it any simpler than this :)

My company is similar to Ayudos, in that we offer the same sort of services - although he's been around much longer than Gifts & Coupons. What we both do is focus on who to contact exactly and get them interested in the project.

As Nitin points out (paraphrasing here), at the end of the day, it all depends on the project. Even if you're promoting to relevant backers - If it's not the right product, or even the right time then the project will fail.

So the result is you could either do it yourself or pay someone to do it on your behalf. Or another option is just buy ads and hope it'll work out. :geek:

We were thinking about using TheGadgetFlow. But we have not done it yet. Has anybody worked with them? What was your experience?

They're pretty good, I think their target audience is mostly for tech + they can publish you on their large feed, I think you need a large budget though.

Also, consider us too. In fact, what I would suggest is reaching out to people who've mentioned your competitors before and "influncers" in your field. It might involve a bit of research but I think it'll be more worthwhile than a general "blast" out to everyone + anyone...

Targeting the mass audience doesn't automatically generate relevant backers!

I have used TheGadgetFlow for one of my projects (which has now been rebranded to steekly.com). The results were quite astonishing. We have managed to break even on the second day (mainly because our product was too cheap, thus we had to sell many of them to break even), but than the best thing is that up to this day we continue to receive traffic from their website and on average we sell about 4 - 5 MacBook stickers from their website (after several years since we have featured our product on their website). I think that it is definitely worthwhile trying them out, but than again it all depends on your product. If the product itself isn't that interesting or appealing, than nothing will help you sell it. In my case I was happy with the results and we are planning to use them again for our upcoming project– the writable sweatshirts. If you want, you can give me your email and I will send you the results of our campaign once it will be launched :)

Anyways, good luck with your project ;)

I don't know about any of these paid promotion sites. They have been hounding me but I don't think they can promise me results. I'm doing a music campaign so I'm not sure if these services work unless they are going out to lists of pure music lovers.

We paid for our project to be included in the backerclub community, which comes with a money back guarantee. If you don't receive $500 in contributions and if your project doesn't get funded then you get a refund for the listing price ($279). We got funded in the first week, so I don't think its due to a poor product. My guess is the audience just isn't targeted to watches.

We also paid to be featured in an email (was the subject of the email), and that flopped. So all in all, if we don't receive $500 in contributions, we'll at least get our $279 back. Currently its at $200+ of contributions.

Wondering if anyone here has had success with these "clubs" or if they're more of sham.
